Green: Edit

Here was my original SOOC shot for Green:

I’m super excited about the edited version and the results from following Ashley’s tutorial. I played around with the edits on my own before reading through the tutorial, but I am so happy that this one came out some much better – realistic coloring and a clear picture of my sweet baby boy.

I’m proud of myself for laying off the actions for this one, but I do love me some Boutwell Magic Glasses… here is a brief rundown of my edits. Now off to work on the rest of the family bluebonnet shots, it’s going to be a late night :-)

Lightroom edits –

Custom white balance

Lens correction

Camera Calibration – set to Vivid

Luminance to remove noise

Bump brightness, temp, touch exposure

Photoshop edits –

Green! layer

Spot corrections, smooth baby face

Brighten eyes – Pioneer Woman style

PS Action – Boutwell Magic Glasses – 40%

It was a bit of a bummer that the bubbles didn’t flow quite as easily as we expected, but Jackson loves pushing things around and yard tools, so the bubble mower was a no-brainer. I saw somewhere they also have a bubble leaf blower… I may get it just for the giggles :-)

01: gift {work}

01: gift {work}, originally uploaded by terrylind.

This picture probably doesn’t mean anything to anyone other than me. The prompt for today was – “What inanimate object/thing/concept is something that you take for granted on a daily basis? What would someone who is not as fortunate as you are say about your “luck” to have such a thing in your life? Think about your blessings today.”

Working at Rackspace is a huge blessing for me. My journey to get here is one I can look at and see God’s hand in. My plan would never have been this good. I wear jeans to work every single day. Flip flops all summer long. We have team outings almost every month, celebrate birthdays and babies every time you turn around. We have Core Values that we live by, and celebrate almost every company milestone with another t-shirt. And, we get to work with people we like, doing something we love. Way too cool. What a blessing.
